Leanne is an Advisor for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of South Australia. Her role is mutli-faceted with responsibilities including supporting clients over 65 years living with MND, education and training, assistive technology and augmentative and alternative communication. Leanne’s unique skill set comes from her previous work history having held a variety of roles in the Disability, Special Education, and Assistive Technology sectors. Most recently her focus has been in the areas of augmentative and alternative communication and electronic assistive technology.
An accredited Talking Mats Trainer, Leanne also holds a Certificate in Workplace Training and Assessment. Leanne’s previous roles have been as an Assistive Technology Consultant, Project officer where Leanne specialised in Augmentative and Alternative Communication apps and strategies- using mainstream technologies and developing the skills of users, families and educators.
She also worked as an Education Officer in a statewide Outreach Service for the South Australian Education Department where her role was to provide advice, professional development and support to educators and therapists in various aspects of working with children and young people living with disability.
